The Strategy &  Operations Innovation Challenge

 

The Personalization team makes deciding what to play next easier and more enjoyable for every listener. From Daily Mix to Discover Weekly, we’re behind some of Spotify’s most-loved features.

 

Personalization's Strategy and Operations drives organizational and operational effectiveness as well as culture driven initiatives within Personalization. We design and own large scale strategic initiatives such as Offsites, All Hands, and Annual Planning.

 

The Strategy & Operations Challenge

 

 

We aim to make work more meaningful by cultivating and amplifying our culture. Our goal is for everyone in Personalization to feel encouraged, supported, and have a real sense of belonging at Spotify. But fostering a community is increasingly complex when we have many community identities working remotely across various time zones and locations.


How can we redefine and foster a healthy, unified, and connected culture within Personalization to match the new rhythms that emerge when employees are working remotely? We are looking for students to design and deliver a project that unifies and celebrates the communities that make up Personalization.

Application Deadline

Factors to Consider:

You would be building a solution for an organization of 400 people, who work remotely across locations such as New York, Stockholm, Boston, Paris, and everywhere in between. There are more than 10 different roles you can find within Personalization including Engineering, Managers, AI Researchers, Product Managers, and Administrative Assistants.

Below is a sample list of elements that can be explored or focused on for the solution:


- Onboarding: How can we build the types of connections with new employees and transfers into our group that establishes a sense of belonging in the remote world?


- Recognition: What can we do to recognize our team members throughout the year and make team members feel valued and recognized that translates well in remote working?


- Development: What type of programs can help us share best practices and/or learn from each other (mentorship, sponsorship programs, etc)?
